Hi all!
We had a great first week! We got to know each other and spent a lot of time setting up our routines in the classroom so the rest of the year would go smoothly. We have a great group if first graders that are ready to learn. Last week, we started working on our Math, we are doing addition sentences, so if you would like to do some practicing at home,that would be great. We also started Daily 5, we are doing Read to Self, the students are practicing their stamina. This year, we are going to be journaling and working on our writing. I will be keeping these throughout the year and will send them home with the students at the end of the year.
A couple of reminders, check your child's folder and planner to see what we did that day and if you haven't sent in a family picture, do that if you can. We have a bulletin board set up in the classroom, you will get your picture back. I am having a great time with your kids, they are a really good bunch!
